Reliable water for towns, mines and farms
NamWater abstracts, treats and conveys water in bulk. Our customers are municipalities and local authorities, industries, mines, government institutions and the Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation, which distributes water to rural communities.
New bulk connections are made under a supply agreement with NamWater. Tariffs are reviewed every year with the aim of full cost recovery, while keeping water affordable for the people who depend on it.

What we offer
- Offices and water schemes in all 14 regions
- Supply agreements for new bulk connections
- Annual tariff review aimed at full cost recovery
- Pre-paid water for selected customers
Managing water in a dry land
Namibia is the driest country south of the Sahara. Our hydrologists monitor rainfall, river flow, dam storage and aquifers to plan supply and publish the weekly dam bulletin.

Why do we purify water?
Water contaminated with organisms such as Cryptosporidium can cause diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, headaches and low-grade fever in healthy people for one to two weeks.
For infants, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems it can be life-threatening. Our purification plants remove these risks so that the water we supply is safe to drink.
