Namibia Water Corporation Ltd
NamWater was registered as a company on 9 December 1997. It is a commercialised water entity, not a privatised one. The Government of the Republic of Namibia is the sole shareholder and acts through a Board of Directors, which is responsible for making sure Namibia's scarce water resources are used in the best interests of the country.
Under Article 100 of the Namibian Constitution, land, water and natural resources belong to the State, so government keeps control of the water sector. NamWater supplies water in bulk to industries, government institutions, municipalities, local authorities, commercial users such as mines, and the Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation, which serves rural communities.
With offices and water schemes in all 14 regions, our aim is to recover the full cost of supplying water while giving customers reliable, quality water at affordable rates.
Water for all, forever!
To provide quality water and related services to the satisfaction of stakeholders, considering the environment and the scarcity of water.
